Title: Authentic Cuban Vibes and Unbeatable Charm – Victor’s 1959 Cafe is a Minneapolis Treasure! Visited Victor’s 1959 Cafe in south Minneapolis with the family, and it instantly became one of our favorite spots—pure revolutionary Cuban energy in the heart of the city! The atmosphere is incredible: vibrant colors everywhere, walls covered in fun graffiti and heartfelt messages from happy customers, a cozy yet lively feel that transports you straight to Havana. It’s got that perfect neighborhood cafe charm—warm, welcoming, and full of personality. The tropical patio option adds even more flair when the weather cooperates! Service was outstanding—our server was friendly, efficient, and genuinely enthusiastic about making sure we had a great experience. They handle the crowds like pros, keeping things moving without ever feeling rushed. The whole team radiates that Abuela-style hospitality mixed with Minneapolis tenacity. This place nails the authentic Cuban spirit: revolutionary cooking with bold flavors, generous portions, and that home-cooked love in every detail. It’s no wonder it’s a long-time local favorite and keeps racking up awards—everything from the breakfast to lunch options bursts with flavor and care. Whether you’re craving a hearty brunch, a casual lunch, or just want to soak in the unique vibe, Victor’s delivers big time. Affordable, delicious, and unforgettable—we left smiling and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for real Cuban soul food in the Twin Cities!

Victor’s was an outstanding brunch spot for a delicious, and nutritious home-cooked Cuban meal that will fill you up for hours. The portion sizes were generous, and the flavors were well-composed with fresh ingredients. The Cuban toast, a sourdough sandwich style bread grilled lightly in butter, was a nice way to sop up the creole sauce in the Cuban hash I enjoyed. This was an extra $1.50 add on to the entree; it wasn’t included in the entree price. We also ordered a Havana breakfast with over easy eggs on black beans with fried yuca. We also had a wild rice pancake that was decent, and a blueberry pancake. The house coffee was a wonderfully-aromatic dark roast that I could drink every morning. The service was warm and attentive. This place is small and has tight seating and limited hours. I recommend a mid day visit on a weekday for that reason. I would most definitely come back here, again and again for nourishing comfort food. Note that they do charge

Immaculate vibes paired with delicious food. I’d heard about Victor’s over the years and finally checked it out. Inside and out, the atmosphere stayed in step with the vibrant cuisine, truly feeling like a trip back in time. We stuck to coffee this morning but all around us guests were sipping on refreshing and colorful looking cocktails. For brunch, I had the lechón asado (pictured here), and my buddy had the chicken and Spanish chorizo paella. They were both delicious, filling, and well worth the price point. Lastly, the service was prompt and genuine. Really enjoyed my experience and will most definitely be coming back for more!

I took lunch here with my folks and it was excellent. We all got their flagship cuibano sandwich and I was the only one who was able to finish. The portions were that generous. We partook in their coffee and it was delightful as well. The outdoor seating was nice, but we opted for a spot in the air conditionied dining room. Speaking of which, this place passes my vibe check. It is charming and cozy.

Quaint diner with a fascinating history. Small, but cozy with very nice waitstaff and out of the ordinary diner foods with Cuban flair. I had the famed French toast, a perfectly cooked over medium egg (which I have found is surprisingly rare to do it right), crispy bacon and some fresh mango slices. Also, the coffee was delicious.

What a great place! First, be ready to wait a little bit, but don’t worry because the line moves fast. I had their mango pancakes with blueberries and they were fantastic. But also, the place a d the vibes are very nice, not pretentious and at the same time very aesthetic. It seems like the place used to be a diner before.

OMG this restaurant is amazing! The Bistec, lechon and yuca con mojo are to die for... My father and I came for lunch, and our expectations were blown away, both by the food and appetizers (we had a few) but especially the service we received. Madison, I hope you're not shy, but YOU are an amazing waitress, and I'd like to thank you, personally, for sharing your knowledge, expertise, and wonderful, positive attitude with us yesterday! You are so sweet and kind! I will definitely return with my daughter, then again with my girlfriend, then nephew, etc. Any excuse I get, I will be back 😉 Happy New Year and God bless

The food is great, the service is above top-notch the atmosphere is unique, kind of quirky it has a at home vib. if you can handle that when you go out to eat. it's in the neighborhood where I grew up, it was a Dairy queen when I was young. it is now a 30 mile drive, so I only get there a few times a year. I would go weekly if it was closer
