Heal Mpls is an absolute gem in North Minneapolis! This plant-based café truly lives up to its name by serving clean, nourishing food made with fresh, organic ingredients and a whole lot of love. Everything on the menu is vegan and focused on holistic wellness—think vibrant bowls, stir-fries, habachi-style dishes, sweet potato hash, fried oyster mushrooms, and flavorful options inspired by African diasporic cuisines. They use high-quality herbs and plants not just for taste but for their healing properties, and it all feels so intentional and wholesome without sacrificing flavor. It's the kind of clean eating that leaves you energized, not weighed down. I've been dealing with ongoing stomach issues for years—bloating, discomfort, and just general digestive troubles that no amount of over-the-counter remedies seemed to fix. Since I started eating here regularly (at least a couple times a week), I've noticed a huge difference. The plant-based meals are gentle on my system, packed with fiber and nutrients, and free from processed junk. My symptoms have really cleared up—I feel lighter, more regular, and overall so much better. It's like my body is finally getting the real fuel it needs. The cozy vibe, friendly staff, and community focus make every visit uplifting. If you're looking for delicious food that actually heals, Heal Mpls is a must-try. 5 stars all the way!

Was recently in town for a conference in October and needed to stay on meal prep. My meals needed to be measured and follow my nutritionist's recommended diet. After calling numerous business that couldn’t accommodate- I called and they were willing to assist me. The meals were so good and fresh. I was in Minneapolis for a week and thanks to Heal Mpls - I never missed a meal. Definitely would recommend to anyone seeking customized meal prep. 🫶🏽

One of my absolute FAVORITE spots in Minneapolis for several years now. The energy, care, love, and beautiful food that comes from Heal Mpls is truly nourishing and delicious. Sierra takes such care and consideration with everything she creates — I love bringing first-timers here and having them fall in love with the food and the vibe. This is an amazing spot for vegan/veg options, but does have a few halal meat options for those that prefer that! I genuinely can’t recommend trying this place out enough. It is such a truly special space with love exuding from the people, food, and experiences had here. Do yourself a favor and go as soon as you can❤️

OMG...when I tell you the plaintain, quinoa, and kale bowl was SO good--I considered going vegan lol. The flavor, the seasoning that's not too sweet or salty but savory..the freshness, the heartniess in the bowl (portion was generous too)...I'm coming back for sure! Because on top of the amazing lunch that I stopped eating to make a review, I also had an oat milk brown sugar espresso which was very good and the ambience in the restaurant was just bright, earthy, soulful and inviting... definitely check them out!

The food was AMAZING. I was apprehensive about cheese-less tacos/nachos but once I started eating, I didn't even think about it. The portions were also pretty large. I highly recommend the nachos. We got nachos, sweet potato hash, and tacos. The jerk mushrooms were fantastic. Highly recommend the Princess Love tacos

On Sunday, I attended the grand opening of HEAL Mpls and I couldn't be more excited to experience all of this #BlackJoy with some of my favorite peeps. #healmpls is a safe space to chill, eat, socialize and gather as a community. Located in North Minneapolis - serving affordable herbal medicine to support a holistic lifestyle as well as beautiful and nutritious plant based food curated for us, by us. The ambiance is gorgeous and I can not get enough of all of the live plants in the space. I'm definitely going to make HEAL Mpls my second home. I want nothing but superior success for this Black woman owned establishment and all of the partnering black owned businesses like Natural Me Apothecary and Alkaline Academy. Congratulations! This is what doing it for the culture looks like. #HealMpls #GrandOpening #northminneapolis

PLANT BASED YOU CAN LOVE- You gotta get a smoothie- Community is the heart of this business and that is not just talk. There are shelves of community partnership rocking the waiting area with local made spices and drinks, POP-Up events, and an apothecary section of fresh healing herbs. There is NOTHING LIKE IT in North and it is a welcome twist. Black owned is cool and worth supporting, yet there is more to the story of uniting together to be plant based and the building of community is deep rooted. PS: Give yourself time to get your order. This is a micro business so they are just figuring it out- be patient- the person that took your order is then going back in the kitchen to COOK your order. sometimes they run out of supplies so just adjust to what is available. They will make something GREAT and they will make it to order. PLUS they have a variety of oracle cards to give yourself a reading while you wait for the magic. Passion- forward

Absolutely beautiful space. You can feel how much love and care is poured into all of the food and drinks they offer. I love supporting local businesses, especially ones who share values of high quality food made with loving energy, and Heal definitely aligns with that! The food we eat can be medicine if it is made intentionally. So glad our local community has this to come to deeply nourish ourselves. What a gift! Highly recommend 🤍 everything I’ve tried on the menu has been fantastic. Mostly vegetarian but also has some meat options too!

Heal MPLS is a solid spot for plant-based dining. I had their nacho bowl with an iced strawberry matcha, and my husband had the taco bowl with the same drink. Both dishes complemented each other really well. For dessert, we tried the pumpkin bread, which tasted good, and the chia seed pudding, which definitely felt healthy. The atmosphere is pleasant, with nice decor and well-presented dishes. Everything here seems to be vegan, and it's a great option if you're looking for plant-based food in a cozy setting.

About

Heal sits in a striking red-brick former bank building at 42nd Street and Lyndale Avenue in North Minneapolis, and the space feels every bit as intentional as its name. Owner Sierra Carter, a music executive and trained herbalist, opened the cafe as a community pop-up during the 2020 uprisings before turning it into a permanent fixture in 2021. The name is an acronym: herbs, eats, all love. The menu draws on African diasporic flavors and Carter's Southern family roots. Tinga cabbage tacos, banana chia seed pudding, a Mississippi Bae Bowl with pan-fried catfish cakes (yes, truly plant-based), and fresh-pressed juices round out a menu that changes with what's in season and what's healing. Organic locally roasted coffee and custom-blended teas make Heal a strong morning anchor too. Beyond the food, the space functions as a healing center. An in-house apothecary stocks over 130 herbs for purchase. Books on self-help and wellness line the shelves. Goods from local Black makers fill the shop floor. A floor-to-ceiling tropical rainforest mural bathes the dining room in green, and plants drip from the ceiling — the effect is immersive and genuinely calming. Black-owned and women-owned, Heal is one of the most distinctive and community-rooted plant-based spaces in the Twin Cities.
