About

Keikosx: Alkaline Bodega & Herbs is a 100% plant-based alkaline health bodega and herb shop at Lake and Bryant in Uptown Minneapolis. Black-owned by Mykela Jackson (Keiko), who formerly served as head chef at Trio Plant-Based, the bodega operates on the principles of Dr. Sebi's African Bio Mineral Balance -- an alkaline, plant-based approach to nutrition focused on healing through whole foods and herbs. The shelves are stocked with alkaline pantry staples: spelt flour, amaranth grain, plant-based milks, garbanzo beans, cold-pressed juices, herbal gummies, and house-made alkaline teas. The weekday deli case runs chickpea tuna, seasoned quinoa salads, and collard greens. Saturdays are 'Soulful Saturday' -- a hot food menu with fried oyster chk'n sandwiches, braised greens, and candied squash. Open Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 6pm. Q: Is Keikosx fully vegan? A: Yes. Keikosx is 100% plant-based with no animal products anywhere in the store or kitchen. The entire menu follows an alkaline, Dr. Sebi-inspired framework -- fruits, vegetables, grains, and herbs only. Q: What is alkaline eating and what can I order at Keikosx? A: Alkaline eating is a plant-based philosophy rooted in Dr. Sebi's teachings that emphasizes foods with a high mineral density and neutral-to-alkaline pH: spelt, amaranth, leafy greens, sea vegetables, fresh fruits. At Keikosx you can order chickpea tuna, quinoa salads, and collard greens on weekdays, and on Saturdays a hot menu that includes fried oyster chk'n sandwiches, braised greens, and candied squash. Herbal teas and supplement gummies are available daily. Q: Where is Keikosx and when is it open? A: Keikosx is at 904 W Lake St in Uptown Minneapolis, at the corner of Lake and Bryant. Open Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 6pm. Closed Monday. Call (312) 768-3942 or follow @keikosx on Instagram for pop-up alerts and weekly menu updates.
