The luxury of a full vegan menu is fully appreciated in our household. We have been to Dreamstate twice, and each time we were greeted with delightful staff, a pleasant ambiance and a thoughtful menu that delivers delicious mouth watering satisfaction. Beyond the food is a full service bar offering something for everyone, not just alcohol. Another bonus the designated parking for patrons, which can be hard to find in this section of town. The prices are reasonable and the food is sooooo good. The shedded burnt end nachos are a must! We’ve ordered them both times, and we’ve wanted to lick the plate clean each time. The corned beef sandwich is solid, and not something easily found in vegetarian circles. The fried chicken sandwich is also quite tasty. However, the pinnacle of their sandwiches in our opinion is the Pub Burger. OMG! I want another right now, so we’ll be back. Their cookies are also quite tasty. We look forward to our next visit, most importantly for the great vegan selections but also because the staff are outstanding! Of note, the bartender made excellent suggestions and really made us feel welcome!

Wonderful new vegan spot! Stopped here for Happy Hour and enjoyed the tacos, pub burger, R&R mocktail and raspberry soda with my spouse. The food was delicious! Good portion sizes though there could be a bit more sauce to go with the serving size of the fries. There was a hiccup with the order where our drinks were forgotten, but they were delivered after informing the waitstaff that brought us our food. The restaurant itself has a cozy atmosphere with lovely art and wood furnishings, however the music was a bit too loud for me. As someone with hearing loss, it made ordering our food and conversing with my spouse difficult. If you are in need of a restroom, the one here was clean. Looking forward to returning and trying out more of what is on offer!

Simply amazing. The owner and staff were warm and welcoming, food was delicious - got the burnt end tacos with a side salad and the crunchy salad bowl (yummm!), and the atmosphere is dreamy, whimsical, and retro (great vibes). It’s a bonus they offer coffee drinks, craft mocktails, and desserts! Would highly recommend to anyone that enjoys great food and great people.

A great vibe in uptown with great food and service. Had the mock duck tacos with a side salad. They have a great variety of beers as well as coffee. The staff was very helpful and crazy skilled at multitasking with creating drinks and serving. Never felt like I was waiting. 🤙🏻🫰🏻🥇

Finally got to check out this new vegan restaurant! When I walked i was greeted with a smile and told how to order right away. Loved the music that was playing, it was cozy and welcoming. I got the mushroom tacos and they were delicious! I just wish it came with more than two, was still hungry after and was craving more! I also got an espresso martini that was very good. I’m excited to come back again and also looking forward to brunch starting!

Lovely vegan restaurant, spacious beautifully decorated, great atmosphere. We just tried it for the first time for dinner and cannot wait to return. The sweet potatoes sope, lion's mane steak and scallop linguini were all outstanding. Everything we had was fantastic, with appealing flavor profiles and textures. Our dishes looked as beautiful as they tasted. Forgot to take pictures until we had our desserts in front of us, mocha pot de creme and sweet potato biscuit pudding...both of which were to die for

We are so lucky to have another great vegan restaurant in the Twin Cities! I loved the chicken sandwich and had a really hard time deciding between all the dishes on the menu.

YUM! Dreamstate completely exceeded my expectations. The space has a calm, welcoming ambiance, and we immediately took note of the inviting outdoor patio. As someone who’s been frequenting vegan spots for years, I was especially impressed by the creativity of the menu and the bold, well-balanced flavor choices. I tried the Pub Burger (pictured), and the Bourbon aioli was fantastic. My husband got the Burger of the Moment, which featured their award-winning chili, avocado crema, and smoked Gouda. The cocktail program also stood out—thoughtfully crafted, with enough variety that anyone could find something to try. I ordered the Moonbird, and it was so delicious that I actually got up, went to the bar, and thanked them on the spot. It was that good. I’ll absolutely be recommending Dreamstate to my vegan and non-vegan friends and will be back soon to explore more of the menu. 💚

I had the burnt end nachos and they were so flavorful and filling. My friend had the chicken sandwich and I tried a bite and it was nice and crunchy and tasty. I love that they make their own vegan chicken there.

About

Dreamstate Cafe opened in December 2025 at the corner of 26th Street and Lyndale Avenue, bringing an all-day plant-based cafe and bar to one of Minneapolis's most vibrant dining corridors. The space formerly housed Common Roots Cafe and most recently Hi Flora, and it's now run by Kristin Wiegmann and Jeff Therkelsen, the same duo behind Reverie Cafe in Powderhorn. The menu shifts with the time of day. Weekday lunches lean into inventive savory plates, while weekend brunch brings its own dedicated spread. Come evening, the kitchen goes full-on comfort: lion's mane steak, mushroom dashi ramen, and a roasted delicata sandwich are among the standouts. A late-night menu runs until 10 or 11 pm, making Dreamstate one of the rare vegan spots in Minneapolis where you can eat well at midnight. The bar program is serious, with cocktails and mocktails both given real attention, and a happy hour runs daily from 3 to 5 pm. The neighborhood fit feels right: Dreamstate sits next to Boneshaker Books and a cluster of independent shops, giving the block a distinct scene energy. If you love Reverie, this is its more urban, late-night sibling.
