This place is always incredible. I tend to order without reading descriptions there to try new things as much as possible and everything is always so good. Worth ordering extra injera as it's totally addictive. I also love that as a vegetarian, I don't have to worry about hidden meat (but even my omnivore friends love it). Everyone working there is also so nice :) Can't recommend enough!
I ate here yesterday and it was so good. It was only my second time having Ethiopian food, but I am obsessed with the injera bread. It’s so fluffy and light and and complemented the dish that I got so well. They also have items for sale that you can purchase if you want to make some dishes at home. I love that the menu is all plant based. I went with my boyfriend who is not Vegan and he got the spaghetti and really liked it. Will definitely be back!
I've had Ethiopian food at a few different places and Lulu's is my favorite. They have the traditional dishes you'd expect served with injera (lentils, split peas, potatoes, green beans, etc.) cooked with excellent spices. They also have some other diverse Mediterranean and American dishes like falafel, hummus, and a vegan burger. The sweet potato fries in particular are some of the best I've ever had; almost as tender as yams with a satisfying crisp. They also have some vegan desserts like cupcakes, brownies, and (honey-free) baklava. The cuisine is naturally very vegan-friendly, but being able to have everything on the menu is a further plus.
Cannot say enough good things about the food or the experience at Lulu. I was visiting from California and happened to walk by on my way elsewhere—I am so incredibly glad I decided to stop in. The flavors were absolutely wonderful and unlike anything I have ever had. It is clearly a family-run business, and you can feel the care and heart in every dish. The service had the most personal, caring touch I’ve experienced in a long time. If I were a local, I would be here every single week. I will 100% be back the next time I’m in Minneapolis. I even stayed and chatted with a couple of others in the restaurant after eating. truly bringing community together.
What a great find! The food was delicious, fresh and service was excellent! Loved that everything was vegan! Two of us shared the medium platter, side of rice and with sambusa as appetizer. The sambusa was fantastic! We had a small amount of leftovers to take home. Employees (owners?) were very friendly and helpful with menu choices. I definitely recommend and can't wait to get back!
I ordered the veggie platter and veggie sambusa from Lulu Ethio Vegan, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The sambusas were crispy and delicious, and the veggie platter was generous, colorful, and deeply satisfying. You can feel the care that goes into the food. I’ll definitely be back again soon!
The best Ethiopian food ever. And it's vegan. So tasty and the portions were huge. Order the sampler and you will not go wrong with any of the chef choices. We had a late dinner that concluded with a delightful conversation with the owner. Highly recommend Lulu to anyone interested in East African cuisine.
Lulu's was amazing, and really appreciate it's all VEGAN. 🌱 Owner's son greeted me & took my order; helped me narrow down my options, as there really is so much to choose from, even helped me figure out how to order smaller version of certain menu items, so I could try more dishes. Lulu herself brought out my main dish, and she was so sweet & kind. Everything came out fast, yet everything was super fresh, super hot & full of flavor. 🔥 Super impressed! It was my first time, but I will definitely be back. Thank you, Lulu & fam! 💜
The food was flavorful and filling! As we picked it up, I thought “if it tastes as good as it smells, we’re in for a treat.” It did. With 4 sambusas and a large veggie sampler, we had plenty of food. It was so delicious, I had to remind myself to slow down so I could enjoy it! An incredible vegan option that we cannot wait to return to.
Delicious food and friendly service! I had the awaze tibs with a telba drink (I'll be getting this again), and it was all quite delicious. I'll be back to try the other menu items! I would recommend this spot to people who aren't vegan. The food is so delicious, and you'll enjoy it if you like Ethiopian food (or even if you haven't tried it yet).
